FAQs

What Do You Do with the Cards I Send?

For collector cards (like sports cards and the like) we take any that have value and sell them to buy new cards so that they can be donated to children at hospitals (hospitals no longer accept cards that aren’t new and packaged). Other cards we give to teachers and other youth organization leaders where they can be given as prizes to kids at school and in after school programs or used to help teach math skills. Every card we receive we attempt to give it a new life to help youth while benefiting organizations that can use them.

Why Should I Send You Cards?

If you have cards sitting in boxes or binders that aren’t being enjoyed and that are simply taking up space, we are a perfect solution. We use these  cards to help worthy organizations which is a win-win for all.

Where Do I Send Cards?

Please send all cards to:

We are not currently accepting card donations.

What Type of Cards Do You Accept?

We accept any type of collector card. Some examples would be:

  • sports cards (opened and unopened – baseball, basketball, football, hockey, etc)
  • collectors cards
  • game cards (Pokemon, Magic, etc)

Basically, if it is a card that people collect, we will accept it. If you’re unsure, you can contact us and we will answer any question you may have.

Do You Accept Gift Cards with Money Still on Them?

No, we do not accept gift cards (except collectible ones) at this time.

Do You Accept Greeting Cards?

While we did accept greeting cards for awhile, we’re no longer accepting greeting cards. You can get some information here on places in your area that might be interested in them.

Do You Reimburse Postage?

At this time we do not reimburse postage costs. If you have a large collection of cards you want to donate, it may be possible for us to pick them up if you are in the Denver or San Francisco Bay areas. Please contact us to see if this is a possibility.

Are There Other Ways to Help Besides Sending Cards?

Yes. Help us spread the word through friends and on social media so that these cards end up helping others rather than sit in boxes. All social media mentions are greatly appreciated and letting any friends know that may have an interest in helping with this project as well. If you know of teachers or youth group leaders who could use cards to help their kids, please let them know that we may be able to send cards to them for free.

Are My Donations Tax Deductible?

Yes. Donate Cards is a federally registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which means you can deduct the fair market value of your card donation on your IRS taxes.
